Janne Vierth

Janne Vierth has his background in music, to some extent in pedagogics and a bit of linguistics. Writing has always been part of his life as has the sense of importance to do things for children.  He has been writing mainly for children and youth since 1998 – television, film, radio and early in his career for games – puppets, animation and live action. Janne has been nominated twice for a “Guldbagge” (Sweden’s Film award) in the category best screenplay – the only two scripts written for children that have been nominated in the category.  Janne has been part of the coaching staff at Cinekid for many years and is a member of the board of ECFA. Since 2021 Janne Vierth is the commissioner of feature films, short films and documentaries for children and youth (2-18) at the Swedish film institute.  On February 1st Janne moved to a big house on a hill by a lake an hour’s drive from Stockholm. Here he spends as much time as he can with his grandkids and his guitars. That is when he is not gigging with one of his bands.
