Comics Workshop: Draw your superhero

Under the guidance of an experienced tutor, the children will create and draw their own comic book character, determine its characteristics, the environment in which it occurs and create the cover of the future comic book. During the workshop, they will briefly learn about the history and possibilities of the comics medium and see various examples of famous artists' work, focusing on working with lettering and character design.

Suitable for children 7-12 years old.

Marek Rubec

Marek Rubec is a graduate of animation production at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications at the University of Technology in Zlín. He has made several animated films (e.g. music videos for the music group Traband) and currently works mainly in illustration and comics. His work has been published in many domestic and international magazines. He is the recipient of numerous awards (Frame festival 2017, Muriel 2018, Arnal) and together with P. Kosatík he is also the author of the comic book "1942, How they invented the assassination of Heydrich in London" from the series ČEŠI. He was the first Czech to create an anniversary image for Google - a doodle. He is also the author of the well-known comic book about Yarmil the Monkey.
