Thirteen-year-old Sasha likes to ride his bike, doesn’t talk much and is sometimes bullied by his tough roommates. A seemingly happy event is ahead of him, yet it is not so black and white after all. Sasha is growing up in a children’s home but he is about to embark on a new life in the United States. An intimate glimpse into the last hours in the children’s home sensitively shows conflicting emotions that accompany major life changes. We watch Sasha’s inner struggle prior to the arrival of his adoptive mother as he wrestles with fear, excitement, uncertainty and intrusive thoughts about his father. And the only thing he has left of him.
