A young couple in a hotel room tries to isolate themselves from the world around them for just one night. They have some wine, one bed, and an agreement not to talk about the war all night. Inevitably, morning comes, and the couple must face reality. They walk through a town at the Slovak border, desperately trying to find a logical explanation for illogical behavior and to think of any safe places left in Ukraine. This sparse, melancholic film captures the simple truth that, above all, people want to live a normal life and that, right now, this is impossible.
