Lera has lived in Berlin for a year. As her relationship with her German boyfriend becomes strained, she makes the spontaneous decision to visit her family in Kyiv for the first time since the war started. But It’s Christmas and her mother and sister are visiting their grandmother. Lera decides to spend her time back in Kyiv with a friend, enjoying the intimately familiar city. Yet there is one major change – rockets now fly over her home city. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, going back to Berlin feels very difficult. This sensitive yet realistic film was screened at the Cannes IFF.
