La Perra is an animated coming-of-age story about a bird girl in Bogotá. Its focus is mainly on the protagonist’s complicated relationship with her controlling mother, her deep friendship with her loyal dog, and her search for authentic sexuality. She explores her own body and all the ways it can be used, while testing its boundaries. These blur both physically, through the expressively fluid animation, and metaphorically, in the young woman’s tumultuous mind.
