INDUSTRY International Forum for Audiovisual Education SESSION 4

For everyone active in the audiovisual and cultural field interested in young audiences

The International Forum for Audiovisual Education is part of the Visegrad Young Film Days project and is produced in cooperation with the Audiovisual Centre of Kino Kavalírka. It offers a comprehensive view of key institutions and initiatives in the field of European cinema and audiovisual education for young audiences.

The programme will spotlight Cinekid, the largest festival for children’s film and media, and examine Quai10, a unique venue in Charleroi, Belgium, where film and video games intersect, as well as the operations of The Film Education Network in the Netherlands. It will highlight innovative approaches to pre-school film education at the Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum and the Danish Film Institute, delve into the success of Swedish cinema for children and young people, including data collection on young audiences at the Swedish Film Institute, and feature the agenda of KIDS Regio, a lobbying initiative for high-quality, diverse European children's films.

The program will also showcase a diverse range of film educational projects and activities led by institutions from the Visegrad countries. Featured contributors include the National Film Institute - Film Archive (Hungary), the Andrzej Wajda Centre for Film Culture (Poland), Kino Úsmev (Slovakia), the Center for Documentary Film (Czech Republic) and Aeroškola (Czech Republic), each presenting their unique approaches to fostering film education and engagement with young audiences.
