The upcoming years will see significant changes for the Young Film Fest. Next year, you can look forward to the unification of two festivals: the Young Film Fest and the ELBE DOCK International Film Festival, which has been held for several years in Ústí nad Labem and Dresden, where it has annually brought a showcase of the best European short films, a broad industry programme and a diverse accompanying programme.
Fans of the Young Film Fest can look forward not only to international films for children and young people, intergenerational dialogue about film and audiovisual education for people of all ages, but also to the best European short films (and thus multiple award categories) and the widest industry programme in the Czech Republic!
The two previously separate festivals will thus become an old-new festival with the short name BOO, which will take place next autumn. "I am thrilled that we have managed to create and implement both festivals. I'm even more excited for the big change that awaits us next year in combining the best of both festivals. Working with audience, the best short films, programmes focused on critical thinking, editing and music workshops focused on understanding the meaning, audiovisual education for all ages from children to seniors and much much more" says director Filip Kršiak.
YOUNG FILM FEST is not ending, it is just expanding and transforming. Next November you have a lot to look forward to!
