INDUSTRY International Forum for Audiovisual Education SESSION 2

For everyone active in the audiovisual and cultural field interested in young audiences

The International Forum for Audiovisual Education is part of The Visegrad Young Film Days project and offers a comprehensive view of key institutions and initiatives in the field of European cinema and audiovisual education for young audiences. The program will spotlight Cinekid, the largest festival for children’s film and media, and examine Quai10, a unique venue in Charleroi, Belgium, where film and video games intersect, as well as the operations of The Film Education Network in the Netherlands. It will highlight innovative approaches to pre-school film education at the Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum and the Danish Film Institute, delve into the success of Swedish cinema for children and young people, including data collection on young audiences at the Swedish Film Institute, and feature the agenda of KIDS Regio, a lobbying initiative for high-quality, diverse European children's films. 

The program will also showcase a diverse range of film educational projects and activities led by institutions from the Visegrad countries. Featured contributors include the National Film Institute - Film Archive (Hungary), the Andrzej Wajda Centre for Film Culture (Poland), Kino Úsmev (Slovakia), the Center for Documentary Film (Czech Republic) and Aeroškola (Czech Republic), each presenting their unique approaches to fostering film education and engagement with young audiences.

The programme is primarily intended for professionals in the field of audiovisual and audiovisual education. Registration for the programme does not mean automatic participation in the programme. Only if your registration is approved, it is possible to participate in the programme. The deadline for registration is 18 September 2024.

FIRESIDE CHAT: Engaging Young Audience

Informal discussion will focus on how to effectively reach young audiences as well as what may be the biggest challenges in this sphere. 


Amelie Jennequin

After working in a variety of roles, from sales to product manager in the fashion industry, Amélie Jennequin spent 3 years as communications and marketing manager at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium. She is now applying her experience in implementing a strategic and financial vision, as well as team management, to Quai10, in Charleroi, Belgium. The organisation is an accessible and affordable space dedicated to quality cinema and video games, offering a unique cultural, educational and creative experience around moving images. The challenges of her role as Managing Director are those of developing the audiences and of meeting social missions and financial targets.

Adéla Lachoutová

Adéla Lachoutová graduated in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of West Bohemia, where she focused on social exclusion, housing and visual anthropology. She is the co-author of several short ethnographic films. For several years she worked and then directed the regional part of the international One World Film Festival in Pilsen. She is the head of audiovisual education in krutón, z. s., where she is in charge of film education projects for kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, teachers and the emerging Audiovisual Hub.

Karin Spišáková

Karin Spišáková graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Film Studies and Sociology from the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague, where she is currently pursuing her Master's degree. Occasionally she creates and publishes audiovisual essays. She has worked at several film festivals, for example as a programmer at the regional film festival One World Košice. Since June 2023, she has been working as a project manager at the cinema - Kino Úsmev in her hometown of Košice, where she is mainly involved in activities for the development of young audiences. Themes of social justice, civic engagement and inclusion are important to her.

Šimon Bauer

Šimon Bauer, lecturer, film and television theorist. He is a graduate of the Theory and History of Film and Audiovisual Culture at Masaryk University in Brno, a long-term collaborator with the Ji.hlava IDFF and since October 2014 he has been the director of the Center for Documentary Film. His main research interests include the programming strategies of Czechoslovak Television in its early days and the distribution relations between ČST and the then State Film. This topic is also treated in his contribution to the anthology Planned Cinema.
